Breast Implants: Implant Manufacturers

Despite the stereo-types about Miami Beach, most of our patients want a conservative increase in breast size. Most of our patients want to simply restore superior breast fullness after having children or they want to enhance underdeveloped breasts to a "C" cup. The major factors that determine implant size include: the width of the chest, the size of the existing breast and the target bra cup size. Implants are measured in "CC"'s (cubic centimeters. In the United States, most women prefer a full "C" cup; in Europe and South America a large B/small C is the more common size request. The vast majority of patients are very happy with their final breast size. I believe this is due to the extra time we spend in the office, trying on implants and discussing the goals of each patient one-on-one. The few patients each year that choose to change their implant size, almost always choose to be larger. Therefore, I recommend that if a patient is on the fence between two sizes, that she chooses the larger one. Out of the thousands of patients I have operated on, I have never had a patient request to be made smaller.
